Personality:
    This young hedgehog's heart is filled with an adventurous spirit. Cindy loves being able to go out and explore the world, even if its something as small as going to the local convenience store. Being both curious and outgoing, Cindy always enjoys going to new places and looking around the environment. She'll even pretend to be an hero during her trips there, especially with the company of her three chao.

    Ironically though, while she loves the idea of adventure, she feels the complete opposite when it comes to meeting new people. Due to an incident in her past as well as her special abilities, she has issues with trusting strangers and has always had trouble making friends. She's not anti-social though. In fact, one of her deepest desire is to be able to make friends that will love her for who she is. But due to her past, she fears that once they know about her abilities, they'll dislike her and no longer want to be friends with her. When meeting new people, she tends to get pretty shy and nervous around then, even hiding behind her parent's back if they are there (or look down on the ground to not make eye contact). This has also made her pretty sensitive, though she tries to be a 'big girl' and not cry to act older (Though if it hits her real hard, it'll be enough to make her cry even in public).

    Despite her shyness, Cindy is still more than willing to help others out when they need it the most. She's very kind and caring when she's comfortable around people, and is shown to be pretty loyal towards those who respect her a lot. Cindy is also a pretty creative girl and is not only artistic, but knows how to come up with ideas and think outside the box.

Special Abilities:
    Cindy was born with two extraordinary abilities: The ability to fly and the ability to spin and create mini tornadoes. She, as well as her brothers, were genetically given this ability by both their parents (The father can fly and the mother can spin mini tornadoes). While her family doesn't use their abilities often for safety reasons, Cindy enjoys using her abilities to the fullest.... as long as no stranger is there to witness her.

    Her bend tail has a surprising amount of strength as it can spin and lift her whole body up at ease. When strangers aren't around, Cindy will sometimes fly into the air to travel faster. However, flying requires a lot of energy and stamina, and since Cindy is still young and not fully experienced yet, she can only fly up for a few minutes before slowly landing down safely (Her longest time fly up is about 10 minutes before she completely tires herself out).

    While Cindy is not a fast hedgehog, she does have the ability to spin around at a fast pace, which creates mini tornadoes as a result. While these tornadoes aren't powerful, they still have enough energy to throw someone back with its wind force. While this has proven to be helpful for Cindy, unfortunately, like her flying ability, there's a limit: She can only create mini tornadoes at a certain height before she loses control of her spin and gets caught inside. She'll come out of it fine, but will be completely dizzy from it. Also, the bigger the tornado, the more dizzy she will get from it. Cindy doesn't use this ability much except when she needs to defend herself if she's being attacked.

Home: Emerald Island
    Emerald Island is one of the residential islands connected to the main continent that contains the largest city in the planet: Mobotropolis. Just like the other islands, this island houses many residents and is quite large with a big population of about 1000 or so. The island contain two main towns located on each end of the island: Emerald Town and Gemstone Town. Along with that contains many neighborhoods, a large beach, a big forest, and a mysterious mountain side. To get to the continent, a long bridge connects the island to the continent, allowing people to easily transport in between the locations.

Biography:

TL;DR Version (Cuz I wrote a lot XD):
     Cindy went through two bad experiences growing up: she accidentally made a mess at a fancy party with her abilities and got yelled at by the fancy adults there, who called her a freak. And she tried making friends later but they all left her as soon as she showed them her abilities. She almost became emo and anti-social until at 8 years old Eggman kidnapped her but was quickly rescued by Sonic. Since Sonic has friends despite his abilities, Cindy was inspired to become a hero like him so that she can help people and make friends with her powers. Her family is cool with her dream, but worries if it'll really happen or not.

Full Version (Sorry that its long I like writing a lot about my characters XD):
    Born and raised in Emerald Island, Cindy genetically inherited the rare abilities from both her parents. At a very young age, Cindy was not only very outgoing, but also loved to express herself to anyone and everyone that she met. She would even use her ability of flight to impress others. While her parents tried to convince her to not show off her abilities immediately, they weren't too worried about her since as a toddler, she was only able to fly at very small distances and it would probably be a few more years until she awoken her other ability. At least....that's what they thought.

    When Cindy was 4, her family were invited to join a high class elite party thanks to an old friend of Arby. When she wandered off from her family to look around, she immediately caught the attention of the adults there, who found Cindy to at first be super cute and adorable. She knew this right away and wanted to impress them more. So, she flew right in front of them, and boy were they shocked, but not in the good way. She though that they were impressed by her flight and wanted to impress them even more. So she starting fly and spinning around as fast as she could as a trick. Little did she know that this awakened her other ability....which she had no control over.

    Her first mini tornado destroyed the food table and caused food to fly over the guests nearby. While it didn't ruin the whole party, it did make a scene and a big mess. And the adults weren't happy about it at all. In fact, not only did they scolded the poor hedgehog, they even insulted her and called her nothing but a freak for having such abominable powers. Shortly her family came in, picked the now upset hedgehog, yelled at the crowd for insulting their daughter, and left home.

    After that horrible experience, Cindy became afraid of people in general, and was prone to hiding when even her family from outside showed up. It took a few months of child therapy in order for Cindy to heal from the experience and no longer fear people. However, she did learn to not expose her abilities to anyone unless she is close to them. So she decided to only show her close friends her abilities. But unfortunately, that didn't go smoothly either....

    As Cindy grew up, she tried her best at making friends, and at first she had friends that she felt she could trust. But when Cindy finally decided to show them her abilities, their reactions were mostly negative. Some of her friends became afraid of Cindy, thinking that she might hurt them like a monster. Others straight up called her a 'freak' and other mean names. And the few that were ok with her abilities were forced to cut the friendship off since their parents didn't approve their child hanging out with a 'freak child' like Cindy. These bad friendship experiences cause Cindy to nearly give up the idea of having friends, and painfully accepted the idea of being lonely for the rest of her life.

    However, things changed when Cindy was 8 years old: Her normally peaceful island was being terrorized by Dr. Eggman, who used a giant robot to kidnapped and held hostage the citizens there. Cindy herself was one of them and felt like she was gonna die. But luckily, the robot was destroyed and she was rescue by non other than Sonic the Hedgehog. This was the first time she got to meet him face to face, and witness his intense sonic speed. She also saw him getting praised by many for saving the island.

    From that experience, Cindy felt something special: Seeing how Sonic was loved by many despite his extraordinary speed, Cindy felted that if Sonic can have friends, than so can she. If she could use her abilities to help people, then maybe they can see that she's not a freak but a hero. This inspired Cindy with the dream of one day becoming a hero just like Sonic. Not only does she truly want to help others with her abilities, but she also feels that this will defiantly help her make friends in the future.

    Currently, Cindy is 11 years old, attending 6^th grade middle school. While Cindy is less scared of people and has actually manage to make a couple of good friends, she still worries about losing them and is still a shy girl. Her biggest dream now is to become a hero and save people with her abilities, just like Sonic. While her family feels happy that Cindy's dream give her the chance to be confident and happy, they do worry about her dream, wondering if she'll grow out of the idea once she makes close friends, or if she truly does want to go into danger and become a hero.

Relationships:
    Cindy comes from a pretty healthy and mostly functional family, and she has a pretty healthy relationship with both her parents. Cindy has a special father-daughter relationship with her dad, and its defiantly shown that she's a daddy's girl. Their relationship is so special that they are shown to rarely fight at all. Arby admittingly doesn't like to discipline his daughter, but he will put his foot down if Cindy has done something that she knows is wrong. Cindy also has a special mother-daughter relationship with her mom. She's very graceful to have another women in the house who she can come to for girl problems. Mary does not hesitate to help her daughter and give her advice, and Cindy trust her enough to tell her about most of her personal thoughts. However, Cindy sometimes butt-heads with her mother, as Mary can sometimes be pretty judgemental with certain things and Cindy will defend against her mother's judgement. Despite so, they still love each other unconditionally at the end of the day.

    Unfortunately, Cindy's relationship with her older brothers are pretty complicated, especially her brother Mick. Mick is usually shown calling his sister names and teasing her, which usually results in the two of them fighting until their parents intervene. Most of their interactions usually end like this, and Cindy sometimes can't help but wonder if Mick really cares about her or not. While they do bicker a lot like siblings, there are a few rare moments where Mick does some genuinely nice things for her. Most of these is usually letting Cindy play video games with him, which is one of the few moments where the two actually get along well. Cindy's parents tell her that her brother's behavior is just him going through a 'teenage rebellion' phase, but it may be a lot more complicated than that.

    Cindy's relationship with her oldest brother Matt is less complicated, but not by a lot. While Matt doesn't tease Cindy as much as Mick does, he doesn't really spend time with her either. Their relationship might be tricky due to him being nearly twice her age, which makes it harder for them to do stuff that they would both genuinely like. Sometimes Matt has been shown to tease Cindy as well, but unlike Mick, he usually stops before Cindy can get really upset. While he may not seem to care a lot about Cindy, deep down, he does care about her a lot. In fact, he cares about her so much that, if necessary, he ends up becoming an overprotective big brother who will hurt anyone that hurts his little sister. Cindy isn't aware of this at all.

    Cindy absolutely LOVES her three chao companions a lot. Ever since she first got the three, they have develop a special deep bond that has even helped Cindy realize that friendship can still happen for her. Jasmin, Harmony, and Jenny are always there for Cindy, and are always willing to listen to her and comfort her when she needs it the most. Their relationship can take on different forms: Sometimes they have a guardian-companion relationship, where they follow Cindy around and she cares for them. Sometimes they have a sisterly relationship, which Cindy views them as like her younger sisters. But sometimes, they have a mother-daughter relationship in which Cindy cares for them and treats them in a more motherly-like manner.

Fun Facts:

- Cindy's favorite food is Chocolate Truffles. She likes sweets on average like most kids, but chocolate truffles are her ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!

- Cindy is shorter than most girls her age. She's insecure about this due to people mistaking her to be younger than her current age (most think she's 8 or in elementary school). This is one of the main reasons why Cindy tries to act older when her age and maturity comes into question.

- Cindy is a good honor student at school. Her favorite and best subjects are English, Art, and Gym. Her least favorite would have to be History, or any class that requires her to socialize or work with students.

- Although Cindy is considerably a pre-teen, she hasn't hit puberty at her current age.

- Speaking of puberty, Cindy does not know what sex is. She know where babies come from in terms of coming from the mother's womb and where they come out of but she doesn't know HOW EXACTLY they are made AKA sexual intercourse (she's truly a PURE innocent cinnamon roll).

Finally I finished this Brand New and UPDATED Reference and Biography of my main Sonic OC, Cindy Hedgie. Her last reference was back in like 2012 and that was WAYYY TOO LONG AGO!! It was time to update it, especially now since I've learn so much about character design and background development when I was an art student. I know this isn't perfect, and there were a few things I wanted to add that just didn't look good, but I'm very happy with the end results here and I'm proud to have done this and stick through it. I apologize that this took way longer than I wanted to since I was having motivation troubles, but now that its a new month, I feel a little more motivated to get things done. And in the long run, I'm happy to have finally completed this. ^_^

To anyone wondering if any of my other OCs are getting a reference update like this, the answer is no simply because this still took pretty long to do and since Cindy needed a new bio and ref, I wanted her to have a incredibly great one. There are some OC's that I do wanna update their look, but I plan to do a more simple re-introduction to their new looks instead of giving them full-fledge bios and refs. I hope you guys understand.
